We are looking for well-experienced Cooks for “McEwan Enterprises Inc.”

You will be working at 15 Harbour Street, Thornbury, ON N0H 2P0, Canada. However, you will be required to work in various locations within the region.

Job Duties

- Prepare and cook a variety of contemporary Canadian tavern dishes, including appetizers, soups, salads, seafood, burgers, grilled meats, sandwiches, and seasonal specialties, in accordance with McEwan’s standardized recipes and presentation standards.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, portioning, marinating, and seasoning meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and other food items to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service.
- Cook food using a variety of methods including grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, braising, baking, and broiling while maintaining consistency in quality, taste, and portion control.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and plating to ensure all menu items meet the culinary standards established by Chef Mark McEwan.
- Maintain inventory of food supplies, rotate stock using FIFO practices, report shortages, and assist with receiving, inspecting,



and properly storing deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and workplace health and safety regulations by maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen.
- Coordinate with chefs, line cooks, and front-of-house staff to prioritize orders and ensure timely preparation and service during high-volume lunch, dinner, and special event operations.
- Assist in training and guiding kitchen helpers and junior staff on food preparation techniques, portion control, safe equipment operation, and kitchen procedures while contributing to efficient daily kitchen operations.

Prerequisites: Education: Secondary (High) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the food industry

Language: English

30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
