& Key Duties:

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Cook to join our sushi bar team located inside the supermarket. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and maintaining strict food safety standards.

- Prepare and cook complete meals, sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and individual grab-and-go dishes according to standard recipes and specifications.
- Inspect and maintain food preparation and service areas to ensure strict compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Maintain food inventory, monitor ingredient freshness, and keep records of stock, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
- Order food ingredients and kitchen supplies as required to meet daily production needs.
- Clean kitchen and work areas, sanitize tools, surfaces, cutting boards, and cooking appliances.
- Prepare customized sushi items for customers with food allergies, intolerances, or dietary restrictions.
- Train recent staff in sushi food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitary food handling practices.
- Assist in determining portion sizes and controlling food costs.





Employment Requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of commercial cooking or kitchen preparation experience (previous sushi rolling or Japanese food prep experience is an asset).
- Language: English (effective oral communication skills required).
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, attention to detail, handling heavy loads occasionally.
