Summary/ObjectiveReporting to the GL Manager, this position performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. May include any, or all of, the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries; fixed asset or inventory accounting; preparation of trial balance or financial statements; cost accounting; bank account reconciliation. Has a good knowledge of the organization's existing systems and the ability to handle most regular issues independently.Essential FunctionsPrepare and maintain the month end, quarter end and year end closing entries and account reconciliations for various global entitiesAssist in the preparation of monthly management/departmental reports as requiredAssist in the external and internal audit process and annual tax returnsPrepare/oversee various monthly filings including HST,
regulatory and other business compliance filingsLiaison with other departments across the company to ensure timely and accurate financial resultsContinuously improve operational and financial accounting processes and challenge status quoSupport the finance team on various ad-hoc projectsTravelSkills and QualificationsStrong technical knowledge of ASPE and IFRS. Must be able to work effectively in a team-based collaborative environment. Demonstrates ownership of assigned responsibilities with a positive self-starter attitude. Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Able to work independently with minimal direction but also recognizes when to ask for direction when needed. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with solid attention to detailRequired Education and ExperienceCPA/CGA/CA Designation or nearing completion4+ years of progressive experience in a similar role (industry or public practice)Strong experience in working in a Global multi-entity environment is an assetSolid experience with ERP system (PowerBI, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) - desirableAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills; SAP and Microsoft Navision (preferred but not required)Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis
