Job Overview

We are seeking Dishwasher/Kitchen Support Associates to join our newly forming culinary team.

The Dishwasher / Kitchen Support Associates support safe and efficient culinary operations through dishwashing, sanitation, cleaning, receiving and general kitchen support. The position is an key part of meal service and food safety and may assist with basic food preparation when trained and assigned.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate the commercial dishmachine and related warewashing equipment safely and according to established procedures.
- Wash, sanitize, sort and store dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Monitor and document required dishmachine and sanitation checks and report operating concerns immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishwashing areas, floors, drains, waste areas, carts, shelving and assigned kitchen spaces.
- Remove garbage, recycling and organic waste safely and maintain waste-handling areas in clean condition.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, storing and rotating food and non-food supplies as assigned.
- Assist culinary employees with basic food preparation and kitchen-support duties when trained and assigned.




- Maintain adequate clean wares for meal service and communicate promptly when shortages or equipment problems may affect service.
- Follow food-safety, chemical-handling, personal-hygiene, infection-prevention and workplace-safety procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment only as directed and maintain required safety practices.
- Support opening, closing, deep-cleaning and scheduled sanitation tasks.
- Work cooperatively with culinary and dining-service employees to support timely meal service.
- Report maintenance concerns and equipment failures promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

- Previous dishwashing, sanitation, kitchen or food-service experience is an asset; training may be provided.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning and food-safety procedures.
- Dependable attendance, teamwork, organization and attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Willingness to complete required food-safety, WHMIS or other workplace training.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy commercial-kitchen environment.
- Satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector screening is required.
