Early Childhood Educator (ECE) / Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA)

The Early Years Centre Lumby, BC, V0E 2G7

Wage: $22.00–$28.50 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday, including shifts ending at 5:30 p.m.

Location: Lumby, BC, In person The Early Years Centre is seeking a warm, capable, and committed Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to join our Early Years team.

Located in the beautiful North Okanagan, our Early Years Centre provides high quality, relationship based care within an environment inspired by Waldorf Early Childhood Education. Our days are grounded in rhythm, imaginative play, meaningful work, time in nature, seasonal experiences, and the creation of beautiful and nurturing spaces where children can thrive.

Our Early Years Centre participates in British Columbia’s Operating Funding Model (OFM) and is part of the wider Okanagan Waldorf School community.

Qualifications & Requirements The successful candidate will:

- Hold a valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate or BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Certificate
- Have recent experience working with young children, preferably within a licensed early childhood setting
- Be warm, dependable, professional, and collaborative
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Have sound professional judgement and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Be organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing the changing rhythms and priorities of a busy Early Years Centre
- Be available to work a flexible Monday-to-Friday schedule, including shifts ending at 5:30 p.m.
- Have an interest in Waldorf Early Childhood Education
- Be enthusiastic about participating in ongoing professional development, mentoring, conferences, and Waldorf training
- Be a Canadian citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident
- Already be legally entitled to work permanently in Canada.



We are unable to provide LMIA or employer sponsorship for this position.

Previous Waldorf training or experience is an asset, but it is not required. We welcome applicants who are new to Waldorf education and are genuinely interested in learning and developing their practice within our approach.

Qualifications Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate or Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Certificate.

Current First Aid certification appropriate for working in a licensed child care setting.

Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check will be required.

Years Experience Required 1

Required Experience Minimum one year of recent, hands-on experience working with young children,



preferably within a licensed early childhood setting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build warm, respectful relationships with children and families, work collaboratively with colleagues, communicate professionally, and contribute confidently to the daily rhythm of a busy Early Years Centre.

Experience with Waldorf Early Childhood Education is an asset but is not required.

Salary & Benefits $22.00–$28.50 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
