Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or assistance with disabilities
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive educational experience
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities using computer systems and organizational tools
- Assist in classroom management by establishing routines, supervising activities, and promoting positive behavior
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards and best practices
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual abilities such as French are highly valued for supporting diverse communities
- Strong background in childcare, early childhood education, or related fields with classroom experience
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is preferred
- Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written-to effectively engage children and families
- Ability to operate computers and classroom technology efficiently for record keeping and lesson planning
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain a structured learning environment
- Leadership qualities with the ability to guide children positively while fostering independence
- Time management skills to balance planning, supervision, and documentation responsibilities effectively
