Are you a physical Hydrologist looking to take your career to the next level and grow with us? As a Hydrologist, you will join our interdisciplinary team of water resources scientists and environmental professionals. You have a passion for water resources, are technically skilled in implementing and managing field programs, and apply your expertise to practical solutions.

This position is permanent full-time based out of our Smithers or Prince George British Columbia office. As a member of our Water Resources team, you will lead and support hydrology, climate, and water resource related projects to enhance our Environmental Services offering in a variety of sectors. You will provide regulatory and technical support to project managers and clients in support of various projects.

We are looking for someone with:

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities and the ability to make timely decisions.

· Demonstrated experience in field hydrometric and meteorological monitoring,



including station installation, streamflow measurements, and experience with northern hydrometeorology.

· Ability to manage tasks according to scope of work, on time and within budget.

· Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and exceptional time management skills.

· Willingness to foster a professional, productive, and growth-minded work environment.

· Able to simultaneously organize and manage tight timelines and multiple priorities.

· Able to travel for field work in remote locations and/or between our offices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

· Designing, managing, and implementing hydrometric and climate monitoring programs, including equipment selection, station installation, datalogger programming, and streamflow measurements.

· Establishing hydrometric networks and baseline data collection programs.

· Compiling, processing, and managing large water resources and meteorological datasets, including development of baseline hydro-climate datasets and time-series analysis.

· Processing, managing, and analysing hydrometric data and environmental field data using industry standard software (e.g. Aquarius Time-Series).

· Assessing and interpreting data quality based on appropriate standards and guidelines (e.g. RISC, ECCC, ISO, etc.).

· Preparing technical reports and supporting regulatory approval and permitting applications.

· Liaising with clients, stakeholders, Indigenous and jurisdictional governments to provide regulatory and/or technical guidance for effective and responsible project advancement.

· Providing guidance,



training and direction to junior team members to support successful completion of projects and deliverables.

· Participating proactively in EDI’s health and safety program.

Job requirements include:

· A bachelor’s or graduate degree in Geosciences, Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

· Professional registration (P.Geo., P.Eng., or P.Ag.), or eligibility for registration.

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in hydrology or water resources, including experience in environmental consulting.

· Field experience and working knowledge including streamflow gauging techniques, design, coordinating, and implementing hydrometric monitoring programs.

· Experience with hydrometric and hydrologic data analysis, including rating curve development, calculation of key hydrologic indices, and statistical analysis.

· Experience with hydrologic software, statistical analysis software, R [RStudio], and CSHS hydrology tools are considered an asset.

· Class 5 driver’s license.

The typical compensation range for this position is from $85,000 – $110,000 annually; the compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
