The Opportunity

Pacline Overhead Conveyors is seeking an experienced Electrical Panel Builder / PLC Technician to join our team in a newly created role supporting the electrical and controls requirements of our overhead conveyor systems.

This is a new position created to establish a dedicated focus on electrical panel building and PLC-based conveyor controls. These responsibilities were previously part of a separate role though we are now creating a dedicated position to strengthen this capability within Pacline.

The successful candidate will work between Pacline’s head office and our nearby manufacturing facility, located approximately three minutes apart. The work location will vary depending on the task or project being completed, and regular travel between the two facilities will be required.

The Electrical Panel Builder / PLC Technician will be responsible for assembling and wiring electrical control panels, supporting PLC programming and basic HMI configuration, troubleshooting electrical and controls systems, and may assist with installation and start-up activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, Project Management, Sales, and other internal teams to deliver reliable, practical control solutions for Pacline customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, wire, assemble, and test electrical control panels for Pacline overhead conveyor systems using schematics, drawings, and specifications.
- Install and wire electrical and controls components including breakers, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, power supplies, VFDs, sensors, and related equipment.
- Support PLC programming and basic HMI configuration for conveyor control systems, including start/stop sequences and interlocks.
- Test, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and controls issues and assist with design modifications and improvements.
- Support panel testing, installation, start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting at Pacline facilities and customer sites as required.
- Maintain accurate panel documentation, wiring diagrams, and component records.
- Source and purchase electrical components as-needed from existing vendors to maintain inventory levels of standard items as well as for custom projects.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks electrical for editing and creating electrical schematics and BOMs using preset templates.
- Work between Pacline’s two nearby facilities as required and communicate regularly regarding work location, task status, safety considerations, and additional support or resources required.
- Collaborate with Engineering,



Production, Project Management, Sales, and installation teams to deliver reliable and practical control solutions.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and quality-focused work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

- Hands-on experience building and wiring electrical control panels in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Basic to intermediate PLC programming experience; Rockwell/Allen-Bradley is an asset.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of controls components, VFDs, and sensors.
- Electrical, Controls, Automation, or related technical education is an asset; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and recognize when additional support is required.
- Fork lift experience or desire to be trained
- Valid G driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel between Pacline facilities and occasionally to customer sites, with occasional overtime or weekend work as required.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
