Company Location: ABC Security Access Systems’ office and warehouse facilities are located at 55 Queens Plate Drive, Toronto, Ontario, M9W 6P2.
Work Arrangement: This is an in-person position based at the company office.
Work Schedule: The company’s standard hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours or overtime may be required from time to time based on operational needs.
Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $97,375 to $110,188 annually.

Position Overview The Electronic Installation and Service Manager leads ABC Security's electronic service and installation operations. This primarily office-based management role is accountable for technician leadership, work planning, technical standards, job performance, and customer outcomes, with site visits and field support provided as operational needs require.
Key ResponsibilitiesService and Installation Management
- Lead electronic service and installation work from planning and resource assignment through commissioning, deficiency resolution, close-out, and handover.
- Assign technicians and materials according to job requirements, skill level, workload, and service priorities.
- Review scopes, technical documentation, site conditions, and material requirements so work is prepared before dispatch.
- Review technician documentation, verify completion, and confirm labour and material usage to support timely job close-out and invoicing.
- Coordinate subcontractors and conduct site or post-installation reviews to reinforce safety, quality, and workmanship standards.
Project Support
- Support Project Managers on projects involving electronic security scope. Project Managers retain overall project accountability; this role provides technical leadership, field-resource coordination, and installation support.
- Participate in project kickoffs and advise on resourcing, scheduling,
constraints, lead times, commissioning, deficiencies, and handover requirements.
- Ensure field teams receive the drawings, device layouts, riser diagrams, schedules, and programming information needed to execute the work.
- Participate in post-project reviews and ensure records support turnover, future service, and lessons learned.
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the senior technical resource for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and related integrated systems.
- Support technicians with escalated issues and coordinate resolution of complex client, integration, or system-performance concerns.
- Assist sales and estimation by reviewing designs, specifications, technical risks, and execution constraints.
- Maintain consistent technical procedures, documentation, product practices, and quality standards.
People Leadership
- Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance management for electronic technicians, including regular site visits and one-on-one check-ins.
- Manage technician scheduling and vacation approvals to maintain appropriate service and installation coverage.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, certification tracking, skills-matrix updates, and succession planning in collaboration with HR and senior leadership.
- Maintain the technician leveling and SME development programs and coordinate progression and formal performance reviews.
- Address performance, conduct, and interpersonal matters in accordance with company policy, involving HR or senior leadership as appropriate.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, customer service, and compliance with health and safety requirements.
Operational and Financial Oversight
- Monitor installation revenue, job costs, margins, departmental expenses, and forecasts, and provide timely performance updates.
- Review time entries, material usage, purchases, and expenses for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure service and installation work is documented and closed promptly in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor technician productivity and take action to reduce downtime and non-billable time.
- Support achievement of sold margins through effective labour planning, material control, and timely corrective action.
- Manage training expenditures within the approved departmental budget.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and integrated platforms.
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring, network-connected devices, system integration, technical drawings, and commissioning requirements.
- Working knowledge of applicable Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, ULC, ESA, OHSA, WHMIS, and site-safety requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, planning workloads, resolving complex field issues, and managing competing service and installation priorities.
- Ability to interpret scopes and specifications, assess operational risk, and align field execution with budget, margin, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Robust coaching, communication,
client-service, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with service or project-management platforms such as Simpro, Microsoft Office, and Teams.
Other Requirements
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and a driving record acceptable under the company's fleet insurance requirements.
- Secure space to park a company vehicle at home overnight, where required as part of the assigned vehicle arrangement.
- Ability to complete a criminal background check where required for client-site access, in accordance with applicable law and company policy. Additional site-specific clearances may also be required.
- Availability to provide occasional after-hours support for urgent service or project-related emergencies. Such occurrences are expected to be infrequent.
- Perform other duties consistent with the purpose and general responsibilities of the position.
Working ConditionsWork Environment This is primarily an office-based management role. Site visits are required as operational needs arise and may include commercial, institutional, multi-residential, industrial, and active construction environments throughout the GTA. Work may also occur in the company's warehouse, shop, or staging areas. Site conditions may include variable weather, noise, dust, uneven surfaces, and required PPE.
Physical Requirements The role includes extended computer and desk work, along with occasional standing, walking, and navigation of active work areas. The employee may occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with accommodation where required in accordance with applicable law and company policy.
