EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - SNOW REMOVAL

Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal Contract

Work Arrangement: On-Site / Field-Based

Contract Term: October 2026 – March 31, 2027

Hourly Rate: $20-$30 per hour, based on experience and equipment operated

This is a fixed-term seasonal contract running from October 2026 to March 31, 2027, with the possibility of continuing beyond the season depending on operational needs and available opportunities.

JOIN THE HARLOW GROUP The Harlow Group provides residential and commercial snow and ice management services throughout Dunrobin, Constance Bay, Fitzroy Harbour, and surrounding areas.

We're looking for reliable, safety-focused Equipment Operators to join our Operations team for the upcoming winter season. Previous equipment operating or snow removal experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who is dependable, willing to learn, and able to work independently.

As an Equipment Operator, you'll operate snow removal equipment, complete assigned routes, and help ensure our customers' properties are cleared safely and efficiently during winter weather events.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Operate tractors, snow blowers, loaders, pickup trucks, and other equipment as assigned.
- Clear residential and commercial driveways, parking lots, laneways, access roads, and other designated areas.
- Complete assigned routes safely, efficiently, and according to established service standards.
- Follow dispatch instructions and adjust routes or priorities as weather conditions change.
- Operate equipment carefully around buildings, vehicles, landscaping, curbs, and other obstacles.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns.
- Keep assigned equipment clean, secure, and in good operating condition.




- Maintain communication with Dispatch and Operations management throughout snow events.
- Report completed work, service concerns, property issues, and equipment problems promptly.
- Work cooperatively with other operators and members of the Operations team.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Valid Ontario driver's licence appropriate for the equipment and vehicles being operated.
- Reliable and dependable, with availability during winter weather events.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Strong awareness of surroundings and commitment to safe equipment operation.
- Willingness to learn and follow training, operating procedures, and safety requirements.
- Ability to work extended shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.

EXPERIENCE & ASSETS

- Previous equipment operating or snow removal experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience operating tractors, snow blowers, loaders, skid steers, or similar equipment is an asset.
- Experience in landscaping, construction, agriculture, transportation, or property maintenance is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude or basic equipment maintenance experience is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Part-time, field-based position working primarily outdoors.
- Hours vary based on snowfall, weather conditions, and operational requirements.
- Work may include overnight shifts, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Extended shifts may be required during significant snow events.
- Work takes place in cold,



snowy, windy, and potentially low-visibility conditions.
- Work may involve travelling between multiple customer properties during a shift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to enter and exit equipment and walk on uneven or snow-covered surfaces.
- Ability to perform occasional manual snow removal and other physical tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in winter conditions.
