We currently have an opportunity for a Full-Time Field Operations Manager to join our MCSnet team. As the Field Operations Manager, you will provide direct operational leadership across MCSnet’s regional scope—overseeing Construction, Infrastructure, Logistics, Fleet, Dispatch, Asset Operations, and Field Safety. Reporting directly to the Chief Project Officer, you will serve as the primary tactical bridge between executive strategy and ground-level execution, ensuring field crews, heavy machinery, and tower builds are deployed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Field Operations manager include, but are not necessarily limited to:

- Directing, coaching, and evaluating multi-disciplinary field leaders, including the Construction Manager, Infrastructure Team Leads, Fleet Manager, Logistics Supervisor, Scheduling & Dispatch Coordinator, Operations & Asset Management Specialist (OAMS), and Health & Safety Administrator.
- Directing the daily priorities, workflows, and workload balancing protocols of the Scheduling & Dispatch Coordinator to seamlessly synchronize field activities across Construction, Infrastructure, Fleet, and Logistics, optimizing route density and travel efficiency to ensure all task allocations are completed strictly within budgeted straight-time hours without over-scheduling hours.
- Managing routine preventative Infrastructure maintenance and emergency restoration for tower and underground infrastructure in collaboration with the Network Department
- Managing the department after-hours and on-call schedules to ensure around-the-clock operational readiness and emergency coverage during major network outages.




- Directing field construction and infrastructure teams to ensure high-quality, timely execution of Fiber/FTTH and Wireless network builds.
- Coordinating laydown yard logistics, utility crossings, landowner access, and compliance with municipal permits, pipeline crossing agreements, and utility locates.
- Partnering with the Logistics Supervisor, Fleet Manager, and OAM to align material staging, machinery maintenance, and hardware availability with active dispatch needs to prevent truck-roll delays.
- Guiding the development of SOPs and SWIs to remove operational bottlenecks and optimize day-to-day execution.
- Championing a safety-first culture across all field sites by enforcing strict compliance with MCSnet’s safety program, provincial OHS legislation, the Canada Labour Code, and utility work standards.
- Managing field operational budgets, tracking project KPIs, mitigating site access/locate risks, and providing regular progress updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership and supervisory experience in field operations, technical utility construction, or telecommunications distribution.
- High School Diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of fiber deployment/ISP), wireless broadband infrastructure, heavy machinery operations, and utility work environments.
- Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in computer systems, including Google Workspace, Field Service Management (FSM) systems, familiarity with ticketing/dispatch platforms, GPS/GIS mapping tools,



and project management platforms.
- Proven background in project management and resource coordination; a PMP designation or formal leadership certification is considered a strong asset.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract and a clear criminal record check.
- Outstanding communication and conflict-resolution capabilities with a proven track record of managing inter-departmental dependencies, field teams, external property owners, and municipal authorities.
