Finance Manager – 6-Month Contract

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a fast-paced finance team for an initial 6-month contract . The Finance Manager will support financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting operations.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working with detailed accounting transactions while also reviewing financial results and providing insights to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process .
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements .
- Review balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate significant variances.
- Prepare monthly management reporting packages and financial analysis.
- Perform budget vs. actual and forecast vs. actual variance analysis .
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning activities.
- Review work completed by Financial Analysts and accounting team members.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger accounts.
- Support preparation of audit schedules and respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Assist with financial controls, accounting policies, and process improvements.
- Partner with business leaders to understand financial performance and provide meaningful financial insights.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and automate manual finance processes.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.

Must-Have Qualifications




- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Previous experience working as a Finance Manager, Accounting Manager, Senior Financial Analyst, or similar position .
- Strong hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reporting .
- Strong knowledge of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting .
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial modelling.
- Experience working with an ERP/accounting system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- CPA designation or working toward a CPA designation.
- Experience working within a large or complex organization.
- Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting experience.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar.
- Power BI or other financial reporting/analytics tool experience.
- Experience supporting finance transformation, system implementation, or process-improvement initiatives.
