Job Summary The Controller reports to the Director of Finance and oversees the full accounting cycle and provides accurate, timely financial information to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Accounting operations: Oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
- Month-end and year-end close: Manage close schedules, review financial results, investigate variances, and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Budgeting and forecasting: Coordinate annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitor performance against plan, and explain significant variances and trends.
- Internal controls and compliance: Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures, and ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements.




- Audit and tax support: Coordinate external annual audit, prepare supporting documentation, respond to auditor inquiries, and support tax filings and other statutory reporting.
- Cash flow and working capital: Monitor cash flow, banking activity, receivables, payables, inventory, and other working capital accounts.
- Financial analysis: Provide management with clear, actionable analysis of profitability, costs, margins, risks, and overall business performance.
- Systems and process improvement: Enhance accounting processes, reporting tools, data quality, automation, and the effective use of financial systems.
- Team leadership: Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff, assign responsibilities, and maintain appropriate review and approval processes.

Qualifications

- Current CPA designation.
- Eight to ten years of progressive accounting experience; cost accounting experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Experience supervising and mentoring accounting staff while serving as a financial advisor to senior leadership.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
