The Opportunity The DEV Hotel & Conference Centre is looking for a Food & Beverage Supervisor to support the day-to-day supervision and coordination of Food & Beverage operations across multiple areas, including Propeller Restaurant, Jet Set Pub, Banquets, and other Food & Beverage functions as required.

This is a hands-on operational leadership position responsible for assisting in organizing and preparing daily operations, scheduling and supervising Food & Beverage colleagues, coordinating service between departments, and ensuring established guest service, food safety, cleanliness, presentation, operational, and financial control standards are consistently achieved.

The Supervisor will maintain a strong and visible presence within the operation, supporting colleagues during service, identifying and resolving issues, interacting with guests, and ensuring each outlet and event is properly prepared and positioned for successful service.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily Food & Beverage operations across the restaurant, pub, banquets, and events, ensuring service standards, SOPs, and opening/closing procedures are consistently followed.
- Maintain a hands-on presence on the floor, supporting staff, engaging with guests, monitoring service, and resolving issues promptly.
- Plan and prepare for daily operations by reviewing reservations, events/BEOs, staffing needs, business levels,



dietary requirements, and special requests.
- Lead pre-shift meetings, assign sections and duties, and ensure all service areas are clean, stocked, organized, and ready for service.
- Monitor the full guest experience, including service quality, timing, food and beverage presentation, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Culinary and Banquet teams to ensure food quality, service timing, allergen requirements, menus, specials, and event expectations are met.
- Coach and provide real-time direction to servers, bartenders, and banquet staff to maintain performance and service standards.
- Oversee beverage controls, inventory handling, waste, spillage, voids, discounts, and responsible alcohol service in accordance with Smart Serve requirements.
- Ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, maintenance, presentation, and operational standards across all Food & Beverage areas.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve service, efficiency, procedures, staff performance, and the overall guest experience.
- Assist with scheduling based on business volumes, reservations, events, and labour requirements.
- Support the Food & Beverage Director with staff coaching, training, performance management,



attendance concerns, and workplace conduct issues.

Qualifications & Experience

- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, Hotel Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on supervisory experience in a hotel, restaurant, banquet, or comparable Food & Beverage environment preferred.
- Valid Smart Serve Certification required.
- Food Handler Certification or equivalent food safety training preferred.
- Solid knowledge of general hotel and Food & Beverage industry practices and procedures.
- Previous experience supervising restaurant, bar/pub, and/or banquet operations is considered an asset.
- Physical stamina and flexibility to meet operational demands and work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Bilingual (French & English) – an asset
