As a Forest Business Services Officer, you'll be at the heart of revenue administration, managing timber royalty billings, resolving account discrepancies, and providing trusted support to ministry and industry clients.

About the job In this role, you will:
conduct forest Crown charges billings, revenue processing and accounts receivable activities and provide advice, analysis and support to program, field staff and forest industry clients review, analyze and reconcile financial and non-financial information related to forest revenue accounts using financial systems and other data sources to ensure accuracy and compliance monitor overdue accounts, calculate applicable interest, and provide support and advice on the management of overdue accounts identify, investigate and resolve any billing, payment and account discrepancies support financial controls and reporting by maintaining accurate account information, processing adjustments and preparing regular and ad hoc reports
NOTE: This position will require you to work from 70 Foster Dr., Sault Ste Marie, Ontario
What you bring to the team Financial and accounting knowledge:
knowledge and experience of financial and accounting procedures,
practices and processes and ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation such as the Crown Forest Sustainability Act knowledge of financial accounting/record keeping and spreadsheet software
Judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills:
attention to detail and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, investigate and resolve inaccuracies in receivables, journal entries and computerized ledgers negotiating and dispute resolution skills to resolve issues raised by clients, and to discuss and resolve discrepancies with financial institutions analytical skills to design, prepare and interpret reports for clients and managers from a variety of information sources
Communication and interpersonal skills
interpersonal, oral and listening skills to teach, clarify and explain accounts receivables, reconciliations, trust accounts and financial transactions with internal and external clients proven written communication skills to prepare correspondence on billings, payments and related transactions
