Position Summary

RBG Security is currently hiring a Full-Time Swing Security Guard to support our TMX account.

The primary work location is 100 Adelaide Street West, Toronto, with occasional assignments at 3500 Steeles Avenue East, Markham.

This is a highly visible corporate security workplace where security personnel regularly interact with TMX employees, executives, contractors, visitors, and high-profile guests.

Strong English verbal and written communication skills are an essential requirement for this position. The successful candidate must be professional, reliable, confident, observant, and able to clearly communicate information, follow instructions, document incidents, and respond appropriately to security and emergency situations.

Required Qualifications

- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
- Valid CPR / First Aid Certification
- Minimum 3 years of security experience in a commercial or financial environment
- Previous corporate security experience is strongly preferred
- Strong English verbal communication skills
- Strong written communication and report-writing abilities
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, executives, visitors, contractors, and emergency personnel
- Professional appearance and customer-service approach
- Ability to understand and accurately follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional security team
- Experience with CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, or security control systems is an asset

Key Responsibilities
- Protect people, property, information, and TMX facilities
- Monitor security operations through security systems
- Conduct physical patrols of assigned premises
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and security concerns
- Enforce TMX policies and security procedures
- Conduct access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, surveillance, and response duties
- Identify and appropriately escalate security, safety, maintenance, or operational concerns
- Investigate, document, and report security violations and incidents
- Complete detailed daily activity reports, occurrence reports, logs, and other required documentation
- Assist employees, visitors, contractors, and members of the public by providing directions and information




- Maintain a professional and highly visible security presence
- Coordinate with emergency services when required
- Follow all RBG Security and TMX workplace policies and procedures
- Perform other security-related duties as required by TMX

Access Control
- Verify employee, contractor, and visitor authorization
- Grant access to authorized personnel in accordance with TMX procedures
- Process, program, and/or issue access cards as authorized
- Follow established procedures for contractors and visitors
- Ensure access-control procedures are consistently followed
- Vet personnel accessing designated TMX facilities where required

100 Adelaide Street West – Toronto Responsibilities at the primary TMX location include:
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems for TMX office locations as assigned
- Conduct regular patrols of 100 Adelaide, 120 Adelaide, and 130 King
- Ensure access doors and security hardware are operational and secured
- Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and security concerns
- Conduct access control for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Conduct photo sessions for new TMX employees and authorized personnel
- Issue TMX photo identification as required
- Assist with TMX Market Centre operations as required
- Provide professional assistance and information to TMX employees, executives, visitors, and guests
- Prepare clear, accurate, and detailed reports regarding activities, incidents, and security concerns

3500 Steeles Avenue East – Markham When assigned to the Markham location, responsibilities include:
- Conduct access control, CCTV, and alarm monitoring
- Conduct regular patrols of the Markham premises
- Ensure security hardware and access points are operational and secure
- Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and security concerns
- Follow TMX Colocation facility access procedures
- Verify and vet personnel accessing designated facilities
- Provide supplemental security support to the 100 Adelaide location and other TMX locations as required

Communication & Corporate Security Requirements Effective communication is a key requirement of this position.

- Communicate security incidents and operational concerns clearly
- Complete detailed, accurate, and professional incident and occurrence reports
- Respond appropriately to questions and requests for assistance
- Communicate effectively with emergency services and TMX management
- Maintain a skilled and respectful approach in all interactions

Training Requirements

Candidates must complete cross-site training before working independently:

- 40 hours of training at 100 Adelaide Street West, Toronto
- 40 hours of training at 3500 Steeles Avenue East, Markham

Candidates must be available to reliably travel to both locations during the training period.
