Senior Functional Consultant – Commercial Lending / ACBS

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Functional Consultants with strong Commercial Lending / Commercial Loan Servicing expertise to join a client-facing Professional Services team.

The consultant will work closely with financial institution stakeholders, business teams, technical analysts, and developers to support the implementation, enhancement, integration, and conversion of Commercial Loan Servicing platforms such as ACBS or other Commercial Lending solutions .

This position requires a strong combination of Commercial Lending domain knowledge, functional consulting, requirements analysis, implementation, testing, and client-facing communication skills .

Key Responsibilities

- Work individually or as part of a Professional Services team on Commercial Lending technology and business consulting engagements.
- Partner directly with banking and financial-services stakeholders to understand Commercial Lending and Loan Servicing business requirements.
- Gather, analyze, refine, and document business and technical requirements for application enhancements, customizations, and integrations.
- Define functional requirements, product scope, specifications, business processes, process flows, and data requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional designs that can be effectively understood and implemented by technical teams.
- Collaborate closely with technical analysts, developers, architects, and other delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support Commercial Loan Servicing platforms such as ACBS or comparable Commercial Lending solutions .
- Participate in end-to-end software implementations, system enhancements, and platform conversion/migration initiatives.




- Analyze and document application and system interactions to support system conversions and integrations.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, procedural guides, and supporting materials.
- Create detailed test strategies, test plans, scenarios, and test cases based on business and functional requirements.
- Perform and support System Testing, Integration Testing, Readiness Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) .
- Assist clients during testing by providing functional guidance, troubleshooting issues, clarifying requirements, and supporting defect resolution.
- Support developers throughout implementation by clarifying functional requirements and resolving business or system-related questions.
- Ensure implemented solutions meet business requirements and maintain overall system integrity.
- Provide a high-quality client experience throughout implementation and post-implementation activities.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of relevant experience working with financial institutions, Commercial Lending technology, or related financial-services solutions.
- Strong direct functional experience in Commercial Lending / Commercial Loan Servicing .
- Hands-on functional experience with ACBS (Commercial Loan Servicing) is highly preferred.




- Candidates with strong experience in other established Commercial Lending platforms/solutions will also be considered.
- Good understanding of Commercial Lending and Loan Servicing business processes and lifecycle.
- Experience gathering requirements and producing functional specifications, business requirements, process flows, and related documentation.
- Demonstrated experience with system implementations, conversions, migrations, enhancements, and/or integrations .
- Experience analyzing application interactions and system dependencies during conversion or transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience creating test plans/test cases and supporting SIT, integration testing and UAT .
- Ability to work effectively with developers and technical teams to translate business requirements into implementable solutions.
- Strong client-facing experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within project deadlines.

Preferred Experience

- End-to-end implementation experience within a software vendor, Professional Services, banking technology, or consulting environment .
- Deep functional knowledge of ACBS / Commercial Loan Servicing .
- Experience supporting major banks or other financial institutions with Commercial Lending transformation initiatives.
- Experience with Commercial Lending platform integrations and system conversions.

Work Requirements

- Candidates must be based in Canada and able to work remotely within Canada.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules when required to provide overlap with U.S. and/or European time zones .
- Robust ability to operate independently while collaborating with distributed business and technology teams.
