You'll provide front-line customer service, ensure compliance with waste management policies, and help support secure, efficient facility operations.Big vision. Real opportunities. That's Norfolk.Basic Function:Provide front line customer service by performing all weighing operations, collection of money and associated documentation and duties at the waste management facilitiesPosition Description:Open, close and be responsible for the general security of the waste management facilityWeigh all vehicular traffic entering and leaving the waste management facility in accordance with provincial and County policies and proceduresMonitor, enforce and process the waste stream in accordance with County waste management policies and procedure as well as provincial acts and regulationsProvide input, direction and service to the public at the County's waste management facilitiesCollect cash and credit receipts from waste management facility customers and prepare required documentation including deposit informationCollect and input waste stream data into the waste management data collection systemPrepare the appropriate weigh period transaction file for modem transmission to the collection management reporting systemRespond to inquiries from the public, provincial authorities, contractors, site users and staffPerform housekeeping duties inside and outside the weigh scale facilities, such as grass cutting, replacing furnace filters,
and snow shovelling.Deliver weigh scale cash receipts to County's bank and deposit in accordance with County policyPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge and Experience:Grade 12 diploma, or equivalentSix months experience to be familiar with scope of positionSkills and Abilities:Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicleComputer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department specific software to data search and entry and to create and modify word processed documentsMust be aware of safe work practices as they relate to job responsibilities and work environment, and have the basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety ActPosting #: CUPE 69.26Status: Permanent Part TimeNumber of vacancies: 1Hours Worked per Week: up to 24 hoursEmployee Group: CUPE Local 4700Wage Band: $24.27 - $30.31 per hourReports To: Supervisor, Waste ManagementLocation: Simcoe and South WalsinghamNote: Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays and be available for call'ins when required.
