Position: Gravel Truck Driver

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain a gravel truck with pup
- Must complete a proper pre-trip on gravel truck
- Work alongside labourers – 90% of your day is in the truck
- Maintain transparent communication with the dispatch and Site Supervisors to ensure a thorough understanding of daily work requirements and expectations.
- Work with customers to provide quality service based on specific job needs
- Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment
- Ensure safety for all team members and property
- Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
- Leave the job site in better condition that when we got there. Clean, safe and job done.
- Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs.
- Ability to work occasional overtime and weekends.
Role Specifications:
- 1+ years’ experience operating a gravel truck with pup.
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license and experience operating a manual transmission.
- Must be able to start work shift at either of the Cumberland or Larkin Road locations.
- Willingness to work additional overtime shifts outside of regular schedule.
- Clean and current driver's abstract.
- Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Having First Aid certificates, would be a significant asset.

- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
- Perform physically demanding work (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
- Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to communicate in an efficient manner remotely
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability
- You can work well in a team, share a laugh with your coworkers and get the job done safely

Conditions of Employment
- Successful candidate must sign employment letter of offer.
- Proof of Valid class 1
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Currently live on Vancouver Island and can consistently arrive at Hyland for early shift starts.
