Mike’s Landscaping is looking for an experienced Hardscape Lead to join our team.

Our Hardscape crews work with a Supervisor, Lead and Technician. As the Lead, you’ll work alongside and support the Supervisor on site, help guide the crew, and step up when needed — while remaining hands-on in the work every day.

For over 25 years, we’ve been building landscapes throughout Muskoka. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, works well as part of a team, and is ready to continue developing their leadership skills.

What You’ll Do

- Work directly with and support the Hardscape Supervisor on site
- Help coordinate daily tasks and keep the crew moving efficiently
- Provide direction and support to Technicians
- Step up and take on additional responsibility when needed
- Install interlock, natural stone, retaining walls, steps and pathways
- Complete excavation, grading, base preparation and drainage
- Read plans, elevations and measurements
- Operate skid steers, compactors, saws and other landscape construction equipment
- Help troubleshoot site challenges and develop practical solutions
- Mentor less-experienced team members
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe job site
- Deliver the quality of workmanship our clients expect from Mike’s

What You Bring

- 3+ years of hardscape or landscape construction experience
- Experience taking a leadership role within a crew
- Strong knowledge of grading, drainage and base preparation
- Experience installing interlock, natural stone, retaining walls and steps
- Equipment operating experience
- Ability to read plans and work with elevations
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills




- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to and from our Huntsville location
- Reliability, accountability and a robust work ethic

Experience working on Muskoka terrain, waterfront and water-access properties is a definite asset. Ready for the Next Step?

Our Lead position is an important second-in-command role on the job site.

You’ll have an experienced Supervisor working alongside you, but we’re looking for someone who doesn’t need to be told every next step. You can see what needs to happen, help organize the crew, solve problems and keep the work moving.
