About the Position

RDE Group is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Lube Technician to join our growing team of construction professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable, hands-on individual who takes pride in their work, values safety and quality, and enjoys working with a diverse fleet of heavy construction and mining equipment.

As a Heavy Equipment Lube Technician with RDE Group, you will be responsible for the inspection, fueling, greasing, servicing, and preventative maintenance of heavy equipment in both field and shop environments.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and will play an important role in supporting our operations and maintenance teams by helping keep our fleet safe, reliable, serviced, and ready for work.

Work Schedule

Our primary equipment operations run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Ideally, the successful candidate would work a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift, allowing fueling, greasing, inspections, and servicing to be completed while equipment is shut down.

Alternative schedules, such as 9:00 AM–9:00 PM or 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, may also be considered.

Shift times and scheduling will be discussed during the interview process to determine the best fit for both the successful candidate and RDE Group's operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect, fuel, grease, and service heavy equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
- Monitor fluid levels, lubrication points, filters, and other routine service requirements.
- Identify equipment deficiencies, damage, leaks, wear, or developing maintenance concerns and report them promptly.
- Assist with troubleshooting and minor maintenance or repair activities within the individual's experience and capabilities.
- Complete accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, and other required documentation.
- Communicate equipment concerns and service requirements with mechanics, operators, supervisors, and management.




- Ensure equipment servicing is completed efficiently to minimize operational downtime.
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow RDE Group's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures at all times.
- Travel to project sites throughout Western Canada as required.

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a lube technician, service technician, heavy equipment technician assistant, or in a similar equipment maintenance role is preferred.
- Experience working with heavy construction, mining, earthmoving, or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with equipment fueling, greasing, fluid checks, preventative maintenance, and routine inspections.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in field, remote, and varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work associated with servicing heavy equipment.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites throughout Western Canada as required.
