Reporting to the Field Support Manager, the Field Support Specialist will assist in supporting Vallen operations wherever gaps in coverage exist or project needs are identified. Primary responsibilities involve assisting in warehouse duties, site logistics, tool cribs and free issue inventory locations across multiple customer sites.Roles and ResponsibilitiesCustomer Warehouse coverage duties including Shipping, Receiving and MarshallingCoordinate bill of ladings, customs documents and TDG compliance while ensuring all freight leaves site properly secured and able to be tracked effectivelyAccept site delivered material ensuring proper documentation, order accuracy and customer quality procedures are followedPicking, staging and put away of inventory ensuring accuracy and quality of on hand goodsSite taxi services including delivery of parts, products or people to various locations at customer facility*Organize & maintain customer inventory stocking locations utilizing Vallen's suite of FlexSupply technology including:Scanned order entry, picking/verifying orders, put away and housekeeping of VMI areasTechnical support of all FlexStock equipment and software applicationsMaintenance, troubleshooting and repair of FlexStock equipmentSupport of vending build center activities including internal machine builds and site implementationsAbility to interact effectively with internal & external customersOrganize & maintain customer site inventory at shutdown or project operations including:Issuing product to end users while maintaining customer access complianceInventory receiving and put away including managing overstock locations and cycle countsTool and PPE inspection services as requiredCommunication to site project team about stock outs, substitutions and inventory level adjustmentsRead, understand, and follow Vallen's health, safety, and workplace policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulationsActively participate in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspectionsIdentify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near missesReport workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return to work programs or requirementsBe fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasksAdhere to potential customer site access policies such as D&A, Fitness or Fit For Duty testing.Adhere to potential customer safety requirements including:Daily FLHA/PTA cards, safety meeting attendance, hazard ID card compliance and other site specific safety coursesOvertime & Off-Hours work may be required from time to time.Cross Canada travel may be required.Housekeeping of workspace.Various other projects may be assigned by the Field Support Manager in support of Vallen or customer initiatives.RequirementsQualificationsHigh School Diploma required.Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.Minimum 1-2 years of related experience, preferably in a Sales/Distribution environment.3-5 years of forklift experience preferredTravel Requirements50%-75%Additional LocationsEdmonton, Alberta, Canada
