Heavy Duty Mechanic

$40 - $50 an hour

Full Time – plus overtime

Job qualifications

- A Red Seal Mechanic Certification is required.
- Valid Inspection Certification is required.
- Valid class 3 Driver’s License.
- Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) Inspection Certification is an asset.
- Minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience as a Mechanic is an asset.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment issues.
- Repair major equipment breakdowns.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions and other major components.
- Diagnose and repair cooling, fuel, exhaust, braking, clutch, differential, hydraulic, electrical and lubrication systems.
- Prepare maintenance reports and service records.
- Recommend practical and cutting-edge repair solutions.
- Apply industry best practices when maintaining and repairing equipment.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a maintenance team.
- Maintain,



clean and basic daily maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Experience working with off-road heavy equipment.
- Capable of performing heavy physical duties.
- Willing to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Safety conscious.
- Dedicated and committed.

Job duties include the following:
- Completing various repairs to fleet of road maintenance equipment including dump trucks, loaders, pickups, tandem highway trucks, backhoes, excavators, etc.
- Completing, recording and reporting the appropriate documentation for any and all items requiring repair, maintenance or cleaning.

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
