Job Summary The Heavy Truck Parts Technician is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, identification, and management of heavy-duty truck, trailer, and related mechanical parts to support efficient fleet maintenance and minimize equipment downtime. This position ensures parts are accurately identified, sourced, ordered, received, inspected, stocked, and issued to maintenance personnel in a timely and cost-effective manner.

The Heavy Truck Parts Technician works closely with Heavy-Duty Mechanics, Technicians, Shop Personnel, Vendors, Suppliers, and Management to identify parts requirements, confirm specifications and compatibility, coordinate order status, and support repair timelines. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, purchase orders, work orders, invoices, and related documentation while monitoring stock levels and identifying replenishment needs. The role also ensures parts and storage areas are clean, organized, and safe while providing professional and timely service to internal staff and external vendors.

Responsibilities

- Process parts orders and support efficient day-to-day inventory management.
- Receive, inspect, stock, organize, and maintain incoming parts and shipments.
- Perform accurate parts lookups, including pricing,



availability, specifications, and compatibility.
- Prepare and maintain purchase orders, work orders, invoices, and related documentation.
- Support the maintenance team with opening, updating, tracking, and closing work orders.
- Coordinate with shop personnel and vendors regarding parts availability, order status, and repair timelines.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and assist with identifying shortages and replenishment needs.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe parts and shop areas while providing professional and timely service to internal staff and vendors.

Requirements

- Previous experience in heavy-duty parts, automotive parts, fleet maintenance, or service support is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of heavy-duty truck, trailer, automotive, and related mechanical parts and components is highly preferred.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Axon, Samsara, email, and other inventory or fleet management systems.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply safety procedures, equipment specifications, operating manuals, and technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technicians,



maintenance personnel, vendors, and suppliers.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced maintenance workplace.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy when identifying parts, processing orders, maintaining inventory, and completing documentation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to perform repetitive heavy lifting as required.

Schedule:

- Cross-shift rotation, including weekend coverage, with every second weekend off for an extended long weekend.
- Day shift hours.
