People & Culture Generalist- Western Ontario

Department: People & Culture / Human Resources

Reports To: People & Culture Manager The People & Culture Generalist supports the People and Culture Manager and organization by managing day-to-day human resources functions while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. This role is responsible for supporting recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, HR administration, and compliance with employment legislation. The People & Culture Generalist works closely with the People and Culture Manager and with leadership and employees to ensure HR practices align with organizational goals and promote employee engagement and development.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

- Support full-cycle recruitment including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and reference checks.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new employees.
- Maintain recruitment documentation and candidate tracking.

Employee Relations
- Act as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
- Support workplace investigations and conflict resolution processes when required.
- Assist leaders with employee performance and disciplinary processes.

People and Culture Administration
- Assist with the implementation of a HRIS
- Maintain employee files and HRIS records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administer employee benefits, leave requests, and employment documentation.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics as required.

Policies & Compliance




- Support development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with internal audits and documentation related to compliance.

Performance & Development
- Assist in coordinating performance review processes.
- Support employee development initiatives and training programs.
- Track training and development records.

Culture & Engagement
- Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Assist in planning employee events, recognition programs, and internal communications.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and respectful workplace practices.

Qualifications

Education

- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources or People & Culture roles
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions including recruitment and employee relations

Certifications (Preferred)
- Human Resources Professionals Association designation such as CHRP or CHRL

Skills & Competencies
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
