Human Resources Manager

AltaPro Electric is seeking a practical, people-focused Human Resources Manager to support employees and supervisors across our office, shop, and field operations. This permanent, part-time position is ideal for an organized HR professional who values clear communication and enjoys supporting employees throughout the employment life cycle in a busy construction environment.

Position: Human Resources Manager — Permanent, Part Time

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

- Coordinate recruiting, interviews, reference checks, offers, onboarding, orientation, transfers, layoffs, recalls, and offboarding for office, shop, and field employees.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee, trade, apprentice, training, policy, emergency contact, and employment records.
- Support payroll and benefits administration by providing new-hire information, employee changes, leave details, school-attendance information, and required documentation.
- Guide supervisors and employees on company policies, employment standards, workplace conduct, privacy, accommodation, and respectful workplace expectations.
- Promote AltaPro’s Core Values through employee communication, recognition, and day-to-day HR practices.
- Track employee service milestones and coordinate Years of Service Awards.
- Coordinate reviews, development plans, corrective-action documentation, recognition, and workforce-development follow-up.
- Work with the Safety Officer on modified work and return-to-work administration.
- Assist in managing the apprenticeship program by coordinating registrations, schooling plans, progression records, and regular check-ins.
- Reinforce AltaPro’s Company Absolutes through recruitment and onboarding.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to address workforce and staffing requests.





What You Bring

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources; education in Business Administration is an asset.
- Experience in HR coordination or generalist experience, preferably in electrical contracting, construction, trades, or another field-based environment.
- Working knowledge of Alberta employment standards, human rights, privacy, WCB, occupational health and safety, and apprenticeship requirements.
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, perks, performance management, leaves, accommodation, offboarding, safety records, and compliance systems.
- Strong judgement, discretion, organization, communication, Microsoft 365 skills, and the ability to manage confidential matters.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to visit project sites if required.

Employment Details Job type: Permanent, part time - in office.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day, 20 hours per week.

Compensation: $39.00 to $44.00 per hour, Wages based on experience and qualifications
