The Role

We are seeking a certified Journeyperson Electrician with proven experience in industrial and field environments. This role involves servicing both electrical systems and the mechanical components of industrial equipment, requiring a versatile skill set that blends electrical expertise with mechanical aptitude. Ideal candidates are resourceful problem-solvers who thrive in multidisciplinary settings.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate, repair, refurbish and test electrical equipment and components in the VIYA Calgary shop
- Interpret specifications and schematic drawings to determine procedures
- Install, maintain, and repair conduits, wiring, fixtures,



and control panels
- Service transformers, switchgear, breakers and small motors
- Install and maintain skid-based equipment and industrial communication systems
- Conduct electronic inspections and diagnostic tests
- Ground electrical systems in accordance with code
- Perform electrical work on treatment systems and water distribution systems including pumps
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic components
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records
- Comply with all workplace safety policies, regulations, and standards

Requirements

- Valid Journeyman Electrician license
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems
- Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices for industrial environments
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams with precision
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and perform field work in physically demanding situations
- Will need to obtain OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper training.
- Willingness to travel to project sites (up to 50% of the time), primarily in the US but could potentially be international. Must have (or be able to obtain) passport for work-related travel.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
