About Canoe North Adventures:

Canoe North Adventures is a family-owned and operated canoe and rafting outfitter that has made its home on the outstanding rivers of the Northwest Territories and Yukon since 1991. Every summer we guide between 175 and 190 guests down the South Nahanni, Keele, Mountain and Horton Rivers through canyons and mountain valleys that most Canadians will only ever see in photographs. Our passionate and personal approach to our guests' experience has made thousands of happy customers over the decades.

Our summer operations take us across Northern Canada, where we employ 25+ seasonal staff, ranging from support for our 40 bed Lodge and Outfitting Centre in Norman Wells, NWT to guides spread across the NWT, BC and Yukon who are the core part of our summer season. When fall comes and the rivers start to freeze, the company shuts down summer ops and moves south to our head office in Bragg Creek, Alberta, in the foothills west of Calgary, where a small but dedicated core team prepares for the next season of adventure.

Your Responsibilities:

Our trips are a high-end wilderness experience, costing between $8,800 and $13,000 a person for a 2-week adventure, and the people who book them are trusting us with their holiday, their safety and a fair share of their savings. From that first comment on a social media post, conversation at a trade show or email enquiry, to the morning the float plane lifts off the lake, our guests will be your responsibility through the entire pipeline.

You will help them choose the right river for their experience and their nerve, take their booking, and then see them through everything that stands between a deposit and a departure: welcome packages, the waiver and the medical form, zoom information sessions, Travel info, the question of whether an old rain jacket will do. By the time they meet their guides, they should feel ready for the experiece to come, and the whole process should feel smooth and painless.

This is also, plainly, a sales job. Full trips keep our guides working and the company healthy, and we are looking for someone who takes real satisfaction in filling them: someone who follows up without being asked,

stays in touch with the guests who have paddled with us before, and knows how to ask for the booking without anyone ever feeling sold to. Summer is when next year begins.

Past guests are fresh off the river and ready to talk about the next one, and we want someone speaking for the company all year round.

Your Skills The person we have in mind writes a lovely email and is even better on the phone. You have sold or looked after something people take their time over-preferably in the hospitality or tourism sectors- and you understand that patience and persistence are not opposites. You like a tidy booking and tracking system and have experience building one in a CRM like Pipedrive or Hubspot or Zoho.

You are curious if not knowledgeable about the AI tools that are changing this kind of work, but careful enough to read every word before a guest does- a personal touch is our trademark as a company.

Canoe North

Adventures has built its reputation on kindness, compassion and positivity, and we hope you will bring those qualities to your workplace as well.

Key Responsibilities:

- Every inquiry that reaches us, by email, phone or social media, gets a thoughtful reply from you, and then a gentle follow-up, and another, until the person books or tells us the time is not right.
- Past guests hear from you about their next river. Keeping those friendships warm is a large part of the job.
- a few times each season a year you will participate in outdoor adventure shows and tourism conferences across Canada, and afterwards you will track engagement and manage and reach out to new contacts.
- Selft guided Paddlers who rent our canoes and gear for expeditions of their own are your guests too.
- You will also foster relationships with the Hunt Camp owners in the NWT and hunters who use our lodge as home base in Norman Wells,

NWT during hunting season.

Bookings & Guest Care:

- Bookings, deposits and payments pass through your hands, and so does the running count of seats left on every departure.
- Each guest receives their waiver, medical form, dietary questions and gear list from you, along with a kind nudge when something has not come back.
- In the months before departure you are the person guests write to about flights, food, gear and fitness, and your answers are the reason nobody arrives worried.

Marketing & Promotion:

- Our advertising campaigns on Google Ads and Meta are yours to run, and you will draft the monthly email newsletter with one of our owners and our designer.
- you will manage lead gen advertising on these platforms, and make sure that leads genereated through these advertisments are contacted, and added to our CRM and Mailing List.
- Reviews receive a gracious reply, our online listings stay current, and our social media manager gets a steady supply of stories and photographs.

Systems, Tracking & Reporting:

- Our new customer system, Pipedrive, will be yours to set up and keep, so that anyone in the company can see at a glance where each guest stands.
- Once a month you will provide a review of how inquiries and leads are turning into bookings and how our marketing campaings are performing, and offer suggestions and solutions to boost bookings.
