About the Position:

The Junior Corporate Accountant will be reporting into the Manager, Budgeting and Reporting. The Junior Corporate Accountant will also interact with the Senior Corporate Accountant, Assistant Controller and Director of Finance.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

- Prepare, maintain, and communicate Daily Cash Position Report.
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations, verify the accuracy of all accounts, and record adjustments as required.
- Recording of all banking-related requirements including deposits, wires, EFTs, and account transfers on a daily basis.
- Handle all the Accounts Receivable functions.
- Prepare journal entries on the Accounting software system to support monthly financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare summaries, analyses, and reconciliations of various G/L accounts.
- Prepare necessary HST filings.
- Prepare billings related to intercompany billings and recoverable expenses.
- Assist in Accounts Payable recording.
- Assist in the compilation of the various financial statements.
- Assisting in the year-end audit.
- Involvement with preparation of forecasting and business planning process.
- Assist in the preparation of tax information.




- Responsible for calculating monthly total commissions, referrals and trailers to be paid.
- Other duties as required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

- Strong financial accounting background with experience in preparation of working papers is an asset.
- Self-starter who will take ownership of responsibilities.
- Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize deliverables.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage work.
- Fast learner, able to thrive in a fast paced, energetic environment.
- Knowledge of Netsuite and Quickbooks is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Education and Experience:

- Post-secondary accounting education or related work experience.
- A recognized professional accounting designation or CPA student is an asset but not required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years relevant work experience and three years in a similar role would be considered an asset.
