Junior Prepress Technician

Position Overview: Full Time, Contract

Hours of Work: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Location: On-site, Barrie, Ontario

Reporting To: Production Manager

Role Status: Vacant position

This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented, organized, and interested in building their skills in a fast paced production environment. The role will primarily support the Prepress team with file pre-flighting, basic file preparation, and other day to day production tasks to ensure files are ready for print.

What you will be doing:

- Preflight customer files and identify potential issues before production
- Make basic file corrections and adjustments as required
- Prepare files for various print processes




- Review artwork for dimensions, resolution, fonts, colour, bleeds, and other print requirements
- Organize and maintain files within our production workflow
- Assist the Prepress team with general production tasks
- Communicate with other departments when clarification or additional information is required
- Follow established processes and quality standards

What we are looking for:

- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
- Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Acrobat, Illustrator and/or Photoshop, is an asset
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Previous experience in prepress, print production, graphic design, or a related workplace is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person
