Overview

ROV Consulting Inc. is looking for a Junior Structural Engineer (EIT) to join our Kelowna team. We’re looking for someone with relevant structural engineering experience who is ready to continue developing their skills while working closely with our engineers on projects across British Columbia and Western Canada, including multifamily housing, commercial buildings, institutional facilities, industrial projects, healthcare, fire halls, renovations and mass timber projects.

We’re a structural engineering and energy consulting firm that has served the region for more than 25 years. Our team works with wood, concrete, steel, masonry and mass timber, and you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in structural analysis, design, drafting coordination, site reviews and construction administration.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with structural analysis and design of wood, steel, concrete, masonry and mass timber structures.
- Prepare calculations, design sketches, reports and technical notes under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Coordinate structural design with architects and documents from mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical and other project consultants.
- Assist with preparation and review of structural drawings, specifications and BIM Revit models.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs and contractor submissions.
- Attend site reviews and document observations during construction.
- Support senior engineers with renovation assessments, field investigations and construction administration.
- Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards,



including BCBC, CSA O86, CSA S16, CSA A23.3 and NBCC.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited Canadian program.
- Registered, or eligible to register, as an Engineer in Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
- Relevant structural engineering experience.
- Strong interest in building structural design.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software and Revit or AutoCAD is an asset.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and able to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to attend project sites as required.
