Summary

We are looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Lead Hand specializing in deck and fence construction. This is a hands-on role for someone who can lead a small crew, build efficiently, and deliver high-quality finished work.

You will be responsible for executing projects from layout to completion, ensuring jobs are done right, on time, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside a crew building decks and fences (wood, composite, and pressure-treated)
- Read and follow drawings, layouts, and site plans
- Perform accurate site layout, measuring, and material planning
- Set posts (concrete or other methods), frame structures, and install decking/fencing systems
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently and meet quality standards
- Train and guide crew members on proper techniques and workflow
- Operate tools and equipment safely (augers, saws, drills, etc.)
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Communicate with management regarding progress, materials, and issues

Requirements





- 5+ years of experience building decks and fences
- Robust carpentry skills and understanding of construction methods
- Experience with composite decking systems (Trex, TimberTech, etc.)
- Ability to read plans and work independently
- Experience leading or directing a small crew
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Physically capable of lifting, digging, and working outdoors in all conditions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Assets

- Experience with permit requirements and local building codes
- Machine experience (skid steer, mini excavator, post auger)
- Ability to run a job from start to finish with minimal supervision

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
