Responsibilities
- Manage legal files independently and provide legal advice to clients
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents
- Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings
- Handle matters across various areas of law, excluding criminal law
- Maintain strong client relationships and manage files efficiently
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of solicitor experience in PEI or 5 years of civil litigation experience elsewhere in Canada
- Law degree from a Canadian university or recognized equivalent
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Prince Edward Island, or eligible to obtain membership
- Robust litigation experience, particularly family law, is an asset
- Experience in other areas of law is welcome
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
