Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate, productive, and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our clinical team for the upcoming public health vaccination campaign. As a Nurse Immunizer, you will play a critical role in protecting our community by conducting pre-vaccine patient assessments, obtaining informed consent, safely administering biological products, and managing documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Patient Assessment & Consent: Perform clinical assessments of patients prior to vaccination, review medical histories for contraindications, and obtain valid informed consent.
- Vaccine Administration: Prepare and safely administer intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous injections (primarily Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines) in accordance with the BCCNM Scope of Practice and BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) guidelines.
- Documentation & Data Entry: Accurately record all immunization data in ImmsBC (Immunization Management System for BC) and manage provincial adverse event reporting if required.
- Clinic Operations: Assist with clinic set-up, strict cold-chain vaccine management,



inventory tracking, and clean-up.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients post-immunization for adverse reactions or anaphylaxis, providing immediate emergency intervention if necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Active Registration: Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Immunization Certification: Proof of completion of a BCCNM-recognized immunization competency course (e.g., BCCDC Immunization Competency Course).
- Certifications: Current CPR Level C / BLS certification.
- Skills: Proficient with electronic health records and technology platforms (experience with ImmsBC is highly preferred).

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
