Position Vacancy: Laundry and Linen

Position: Part Time Linen Porter (UNIFOR Service)

Hours of Work: 0800-1600 every other weekend on Linen

Location: WRHN @ Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital, KW Campus)

Position Summary

As part of a proactive team, the incumbent will be responsible for delivering and transferring linen carts throughout the Hospital as well as collecting soiled linen throughout the hospital. Other duties include carrying the linen pager and ensuring there is a sufficient supply of linen and scrubs throughout all areas of the hospital with daily access, adjustments, and final confirmation of the line par computer system. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe workplace for patients, staff and visitors

Position Requirements:

- Grade 12 or equivalent

- Advanced proficiency in Hospital computer applications – PMM, Excel, Word, Inventory Software, handheld computer operating ability synchronizing to the internet

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, with co-workers, with clinical teams and prioritize work

- Must be physically able to push, pull and turn carts weighting 400 lbs.

- Good attendance record
