LUBE TECHNICIAN – FLEET & EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal Contract

Work Arrangement: On-Site / Field-Based

Contract Term: October 2026 – March 31, 2027

Hourly Rate: 20–30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

This is a fixed-term seasonal contract running from October 2026 to March 31, 2027, with the possibility of continuing beyond the season depending on operational needs and available opportunities.

JOIN THE HARLOW GROUP The Harlow Group provides residential and commercial snow and ice management services throughout Dunrobin, Constance Bay, Fitzroy Harbour, and surrounding areas.

We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Lube Technician to help keep our fleet and snow removal equipment operating safely and reliably throughout the winter season. Previous experience in equipment maintenance, lubrication, or fleet service is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who is dependable, willing to learn, and able to work independently.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Perform routine lubrication, greasing, fluid checks, and basic preventative maintenance on trucks, tractors, snow blowers, trailers, and other equipment.
- Complete regular equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance or mechanical issues.
- Check and top up engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, washer fluid, and other required fluids.
- Assist with oil and filter changes and other routine service tasks.
- Clean and maintain equipment, work areas, tools, and service areas.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and service completed.
- Report equipment issues, damage, leaks, or safety concerns promptly.
- Prepare equipment for upcoming snow events and help ensure equipment is ready for deployment.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance as required.




- Work closely with Operations and Equipment Operators to keep the fleet running safely and efficiently.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Reliable and dependable, with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to learn and follow maintenance procedures and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.
- Ability to identify and report equipment issues.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence is an asset.
- Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays when required during snow events.

EXPERIENCE & ASSETS

- Previous experience in lubrication, fleet maintenance, automotive service, heavy equipment, agriculture, construction, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience servicing tractors, trucks, trailers, or other heavy equipment is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of engines, hydraulics, grease systems, and fluids is an asset.
- Mechanical or equipment maintenance training is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Part-time, field-based position working primarily outdoors and in maintenance areas.
- Hours vary based on operational requirements and weather conditions.
- Work may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Extended hours may be required during significant snow events.
- Work may take place in cold, wet, snowy, and potentially low-visibility conditions.




- Regular exposure to grease, oils, fluids, dirt, and other materials associated with equipment maintenance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to work on and around vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work in various positions while performing maintenance tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, parts, fluids, and equipment as required.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in winter conditions.
