Key Responsibilities

Preventative &

- Corrective Maintenance

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, facility equipment, and building systems.

- Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests in a timely manner to minimize downtime.

- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and industrial electrical systems within the scope of training and authorization.

- Perform routine mechanical adjustments, lubrication, component replacement, and general maintenance.

- Inspect equipment for wear, damage, abnormal conditions, and potential failures.

- Complete and maintain accurate work orders, equipment history, findings, parts used, and follow-up requirements in eMaint.

Equipment Reliability &

- Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, efficiency, and safety.

- Investigate recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions and preventative maintenance improvements.

- Support equipment installations, upgrades, testing, and commissioning.

- Provide maintenance input on new equipment selection, installation, and modifications.

- Assist with identifying critical spare parts and appropriate inventory levels.

Facility &

- Building Maintenance

- Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the facility and surrounding property.

- Maintain and service industrial doors, dock equipment, cranes, compressed-air systems, ventilation, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and other facility systems.

- Complete minor carpentry, painting, hardware, fixture, and general building repairs within the scope of training and authorization.

- Perform inspections and maintenance in elevated areas using approved access equipment, fall protection, and safe-work procedures.

- Coordinate specialized facility repairs, inspections, and services with qualified contractors.

Inventory, Contractors &

- Communication

- Maintain an organized maintenance shop, tools, spare parts, and inventory records.

- Monitor commonly used maintenance parts, tools, and consumables and communicate replenishment needs.

- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, vendors, contractors, and outside specialists for maintenance and repairs.

- Provide contractors with relevant equipment information, site requirements, access details, and safety expectations.

- Maintain clear maintenance documentation and communicate equipment status, hazards, repair needs, downtime, and follow-up actions to appropriate stakeholders.





- Work closely with Production and Engineering to resolve issues and improve maintenance processes and equipment reliability.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Safety Responsibilities

- Comply with the Occupational Health &
- Safety Act, including worker duties under Section 28

- Follow all company health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures

- Adhere to established safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping standards

- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, defects, or compliance issues promptly

- Participate in investigations and provide input on corrective actions

- Uphold workplace violence and harassment prevention policies (Bill 168)

- Attend required Environmental Health and Safety training

- Understand and exercise the right to refuse unsafe work

Knowledge, Skills &

- Abilities

- Strong equipment and mechanical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to complete general repairs within the scope of training and authorization.

- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, sensors, switches, contactors, relays, and variable-frequency drives.

- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders, valves, regulators, tubing, fittings, pressure systems, and stored-energy hazards.

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, technical documentation, and basic electrical schematics.

- Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, hazardous-energy control, and secure maintenance practices.

- Ability to identify root causes, recommend practical corrective actions, and help prevent repeated equipment failures.

- Ability to safely use common industrial maintenance tools and equipment.

- Ability to organize work, maintain accurate records, and use or learn a computerized maintenance management system, preferably eMaint.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent requests, and collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, contractors, suppliers, and management.

- Good computer, communication, and organizational skills.

- Welding, fabrication, PLC-controlled equipment, automation, scissor-lift, elevated-work-platform, and forklift experience are considered assets.

Education &

Experience Requirements





- Post-secondary education or training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, electromechanical systems, building systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and hands-on maintenance experience.

- Required safety certifications must be maintained or obtained as assigned.

- Working-at-heights, elevated-work-platform, forklift, electrical, welding, and fabrication training are considered assets.

- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including preventative maintenance, equipment breakdown response, and mechanical troubleshooting.

- Practical experience supporting industrial electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems is preferred, with specialized work escalated to qualified trades or contractors.

- CMMS/eMaint, PLC-controlled equipment, contractor coordination, facility maintenance, welding, and fabrication experience are considered assets.
