Join our newly forming maintenance team as a Maintenance Worker to provide maintenance coverage on weekends and relief during weekdays.

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, appearance, and overall upkeep of the senior retirement community. This position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and grounds maintenance while providing exceptional customer service to residents, staff, and visitors. The Maintenance Worker helps create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment that enhances residents' quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in resident suites, common areas, and community facilities.
- Complete work orders related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building maintenance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, building systems, and community assets.
- Inspect and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
- Repair or replace fixtures, appliances, locks, doors, lighting, and other building components.
- Monitor building safety and security systems.
- Perform seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow removal, salting, landscaping, and minor outdoor repairs.




- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as required.
- Set up and support community events by moving furniture and equipment when needed.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and stakeholders by addressing concerns professionally, responding to feedback, and ensuring a high standard of customer service.

Qualifications & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Trade certification or technical training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, millwright, building maintenance, or a related discipline is an asset
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Demonstrated knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety procedures.
- Previous maintenance experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, apartment, or commercial facilities preferred.
- Robust customer service orientation with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate professionally with residents, families, employees, contractors, and leadership.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use a computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic reporting tools.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
