The role requires strong communication skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer ServiceGreet and assist customers arriving at the yardProvide guidance on material drop‐off proceduresRespond to basic inquiries regarding pricing, materials, and processesEnsure a professional and courteous customer experienceWeigh Scale OperationsOperate computerized weighing scale system for incoming and outgoing materialsAccurately record weights, customer information, and transactionsGenerate tickets and receiptsMaintain logs and ensure data accuracyMaterial HandlingAssist with sorting, loading,



and unloading scrap materialsIdentify different types of metals (training provided if needed)Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard areasGeneral Yard DutiesPerform manual labour tasks including lifting, moving, and stacking materialsFollow all health and safety procedures and wear required PPEAssist with basic maintenance and housekeeping tasksReport any hazards or unsafe conditions to managementQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in a yard, warehouse, or similar environment is an assetBasic computer skills (data entry, operating simple systems)Strong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditionsPhysically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbsKnowledge of scrap metal types is an asset (training can be provided)Skills & CompetenciesAttention to detail (especially for weighing and transactions)Reliability and punctualityTeam player with a robust work ethicAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentSafety-focused mindsetWorking ConditionsOutdoor work in a scrap yard environmentExposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipmentUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
