We have a Job opportunity for a MATERIAL HANDLER / PICKER (7:00 am to 3:30 pm) located in our Vancouver Distribution Centre in Richmond, BC.

Job Title: Material Handler and Picker - Vancouver

Department: Operations

Reports To: Distribution Manager

Shift Times: 7:00am to 3:30pm

Wage : $23.00 plus gainshare

Material Handler – Duties and Responsibilities:

- Follow standard operating procedures where applicable

- Ability to work within a team setting in a fast-paced distribution warehouse.

- Monitor lines picked per hour by individual pickers and as a department.

- Allocate workload to Material Handlers in accordance with daily requirements. e.g., picking mass orders, regular orders, replenishment and put aways from Receiving, etc.

- Ensure orders entered by 12:00pm are shipped same day.





- Allocate workload to pickers as required. e.g.: helping with replenishment, put away from Receiving, packing, cycle counting.

- Apply Lean principles to warehouse processes and procedures.

- Actively support and model Purity Life’s core values by encouraging COMMIT

Picker – Duties and Responsibilities:

- Pick materials and products manually for distribution to our customers

- Lift totes off racking to station for packing (approx. 40 lbs)

- Performs basic quality control checks including package counts and evaluating product or package appearance

- Folds & tapes boxes, applies labels, and stacks boxes on pallets/conveyor

- Demonstrate proficiency in packing all components and sub-components for all cases, boxes and displays

- Ensure that all warehouse equipment and tools are properly utilized to increase productivity and efficiency

- Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, and handling heavy objects, proper cutting techniques, reaching and pushing/pulling

- Ensure that your work area is neat, safe, organized and packing materials restocked at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school education

- Computer knowledge (MS Office, Modular (AS400), Edge (Highjump), RF scanning equipment)

- Attention to detail

- Good communication skills

- Ability to lift 50 lbs

- Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision

- Good customer service skills

- Ability to multi-task

- Lift truck certificate, Supervisory Heatlh & Safety Training, 1st Aid training

- Proven history of leading in a team-based environment
