The Material Handler is facility specific, and will organize and coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between and within departments using a fork truck as primary means of transportation. The Material Handler will report to the Materials Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Gains basic understanding of:
- o Bills of Material
- o Factories and Departments
- o Basic departmental/company procedures
- o Work/product flow
- o Supplies locations and pallet repair
- o Random Inventory
- o Performs Fork Truck maintenance and inspection
- o Knowledge of Basic HFA screens and functions
- o Maintains clean and orderly department
- Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability.
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Arranges in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
- Computes amount of material required to complete job orders.
- Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
- Moves or transports materials from one department to another.
- Wears all required PPE
- Practices safe work habits
- Aware of and properly uses safety mechanisms, emergency stops, etc. for safe machine operation.




- Maintains clean, clutter-free work areas
- Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
