Scholars of Burlington South is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic part-time High School Math Tutor to join the team.

As a tutor at Scholars, you need to positively impact students, both personally and academically. We take pride in delivering positive results that matter to all of our students, and our teachers play a significant role in this journey. Candidates for this position must be confident teaching High School Math from Grade 9 to Grade 12. The ideal candidate will be able to teach Grade 9 math all the way up to Gr 12 Calculus.

Teaching can be an incredibly rewarding position and we are looking for someone who wants to make strong connections with their students, guide their academic growth, and help them develop the confidence they need to succeed. We have a fantastic team of tutors and management that will help you learn the teaching methodology of Scholars and support you in your role. Responsibilities:

- Tutoring 2-3 High School students (Math) at a table for an hour.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff members.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation.




- Monitor / track student progress and provide feedback about their skills and development.
- Utilize various teaching methods and resources to enhance student learning experiences.
- Work with management to create and follow a learning plan tailored to each individual student's needs

Requirements:

- Candidates who have graduated from or are currently studying at a Canadian university, preferably in fields related to Math or the Sciences
- A willingness to learn and grow as an educator
- A passion for getting involved in student success

Beneficial:

- Previous teaching experience or experience working with children is helpful but not required

Schedule: Candidates must be able to work a minimum of two days per week within our hours of operation. Preference will be given to applicants with availability on Wednesdays.

Monday to Thursday: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Saturday: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Pay: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour

Education

- Completed or In Progress Bachelor's Degree or higher (required)
- Completed Secondary School Diploma

Experience:
- Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)

LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. We do not do online tutoring at this location. Job Type: Part-time
