Medical Imaging with Island Health offers the opportunity to practise across a diverse range of diagnostic and interventional services while working within collaborative medical imaging teams across Vancouver Island.

Opportunities are available in Victoria, Nanaimo, Duncan, the Comox Valley and Campbell River, offering a range of urban, coastal and rural practice settings.

What are the opportunities in Medical Imaging?

- Medical Imaging physicians provide diagnostic and interventional services across a broad range of clinical settings and patient populations.
- Practice opportunities may include general radiology, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, PET/CT and interventional radiology.
- Subspecialty interests and experience are welcomed, with opportunities in areas including breast imaging, neuroradiology, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Physicians work within cooperative medical imaging groups supporting hospitals, clinics and patients across Vancouver Island.
- Practice models vary by location and may include general radiology, subspecialty practice, interventional procedures and participation in after-hours or on-call services.

You will work within collaborative medical imaging teams with access to modern diagnostic technology and a broad range of clinical services. Opportunities are also available to participate in interdisciplinary rounds, teaching and medical education through the University of British Columbia, including the Island Medical Program and residency training. With new and expanding facilities across the Island, Medical Imaging physicians have opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of imaging services. In Cowichan, for example, a new hospital planned for 2027 will feature expanded medical imaging capabilities, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy,



mammography, bone densitometry and diagnostic ultrasound.
