Salary: Medical Laboratory Assistant I, Step 2 (per AUPE Salary Grid)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Position Summary

Stoney Health Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to join our healthcare team. The MLA is responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, maintaining laboratory equipment, supporting quality assurance activities, and providing exceptional patient care in a safe and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Process, label, prepare, receive, and transport specimens.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas.
- Ensure accurate patient records and laboratory documentation.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality control standards.




- Support patients by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort during testing.

Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program.
- Current CPR, WHMIS, and TDG certifications.
- Solid communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Experience with or interest in Indigenous culture is an asset.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required.
