Engage in a meaningful role as a Relief Corrections Officer in the Northwest Territories. Oversee the care and rehabilitation of individuals in custody while ensuring their safety.

This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and Deputy Warden, focusing on maintaining a secure correctional setting. You'll manage the wellbeing of up to 48 persons in custody, support their rehabilitation programs, and ensure compliance with corrections policies. Responsibilities include rotating shifts across various posts and mentoring recent hires on best practices.

Key Responsibilities:



• Ensure safety and security for staff and inmates • Assist in developing reintegration strategies for inmates • Directly manage individuals in custody with respect • Provide guidance during the orientation of recent staff • Uphold legal and procedural standards

Requirements: • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent certification • Completion of NWT Corrections Northern Recruitment Training • Valid Class 4 driver's license required • First Aid certification necessary • Strong physical and communication capabilities
