Serve those in need by becoming an Overnight Shelter Support Staff at Siloam Mission in Winnipeg. This role is dedicated to fostering safety and support in a low-barrier overnight shelter setting.
In this vital position, you'll be active with community members during twelve-hour overnight shifts, addressing immediate needs while incorporating a Housing-Focused approach. You'll utilize behavioral and trauma-informed practices to assist individuals facing homelessness.
A key aspect of your role will be collaborating with diverse populations and adhering to Siloam's core values.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct support to shelter residents every night
Ensure safety through active monitoring and assessment
Complete incident reports and maintain daily logs
Provide nutritious support including meals and clothing
Conduct general housekeeping to ensure a clean setting
Requirements:
Diploma in social services or relevant experience
At least 1 year of working with at-risk populations
Knowledge of cultural awareness and anti-oppressive practices
Ability to manage crisis situations calmly
Commitment to ongoing training and career development
