Mental Health and Substance Use Worker - Clearwater & Barriere B.C.

Yellowhead Community Services Society is a not for profit, integrated health/social service agency with offices located in Clearwater, Barriere, Merritt, Lillooet, and Ashcroft. We are currently seeking a Mental Health & Substance Use Worker, Part-time 20+ hours a week to join our team in Clearwater and Barriere, BC.

Key Duties:

- Assist Mental Health and Substance Use Clinicians with assigned clients, care coordination activities, and counselling team group programming, in consultation with the Counselling Program Manager.
- Coordinate Adult and Senior Psychiatry referrals and related follow-up activities.
- Support clients through the psychiatry referral and consultation process.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, MHSU clinicians, families, and community partners.
- Assist clients in accessing services, resources, and community supports.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate communication to facilitate psychiatry appointments.
- Maintain clinical documentation and required program records.
- Promote recovery, wellbeing, self-determination, and client strengths through a trauma- informed and person-centered approach. Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Hours of Work Shifts will typically take place between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday,



but may include evenings and weekends depending on program needs. This is a regular part-time position for a minimum of 20hrs per week. Opportunities to increase hours, up to 35 hours per week, may be available through a blended role supporting other programs within YCS.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioral, or Social Science field is preferred, however related 2-year diploma and relevant experience will be considered.

Any offers of employment will be subject to a clean criminal record check. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract. Access to a reliable vehicle is required. Current first aid would be an asset

Compensation

Rate of pay for this position is dependent on a combination of education and/or experience and ranges from $34.86 (Step 1) to $40.44 (Step 3). A competitive benefits package is available.
