Industrial Millwright – The Industrial Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and dismantling machinery and equipment in accordance with blueprints, manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety standards. This role supports day-to-day production by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and contributing to a safe, efficient food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work workplace while following all company safety policies, quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and standard operating procedures.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, mechanical systems, conveyors, pumps, compressors, packaging equipment, and related plant equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, including disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, reassembly, alignment, adjustment, and calibration of equipment.
- Diagnose equipment issues by observing machinery in operation, reviewing symptoms with production staff, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Identify and communicate mechanical hazards, equipment concerns, and repair requirements to maintenance leadership, production supervisors, and operators.
- Support production uptime by responding to breakdowns, completing repairs efficiently, and assisting operators with routine preventive maintenance practices.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and related documentation as required.




- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, lockout/tagout, and other regulatory or company requirements when performing maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties and special assignments as requested by management.

Qualifications:

- Valid 433A Industrial Millwright licence or equivalent trade certification.
- Minimum 2–3 years of millwright experience in a manufacturing environment; food processing experience is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, pumps, compressors, electrical and electronic controls, and high-speed packaging equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance instructions.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical repair skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills.

Hours of Work: 6:00am to 2:30pm

Days of Work: Monday to Friday

This position may require a regular work schedule of approximately 50 hours per week, when overtime is required. Employment is conditional upon the employee entering into a written agreement to work excess weekly hours as permitted under the Ontario Employment Standards Act. Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable legislation.

Pay: $42.00-$47.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
