Nurse Practitioner opportunities with Island Health offer the opportunity to provide meaningful, patient-centred care while working within supportive, interdisciplinary teams across a diverse range of practice settings.

Opportunities are available throughout Vancouver Island, including Victoria, Duncan, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Campbell River, the Comox Valley, Sidney, Qualicum Beach, Quadra Island, Langford and other communities across the region.

What are the opportunities for Nurse Practitioners?

- Provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care across a range of populations and communities.
- Practice in diverse settings including Primary Care Networks, urgent and primary care centres, community health centres, Indigenous health services, outreach programs and Island Health facilities.
- Support patients with a wide range of needs, including chronic disease management, preventive care, mental health and substance use, urgent care and complex medical conditions.
- Build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients while providing culturally safe, trauma-informed and equitable care.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively alongside physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists and other allied health professionals.
- Opportunities are available for both longitudinal and episodic care, with flexible practice models and schedules depending on the position.

You will work within collaborative, team-based environments that support both patients and providers. Many roles offer opportunities to contribute to community health initiatives, quality improvement, education and the ongoing development of primary care services. From established practices to new and expanding services,
