The City of Mississauga is hiring an Active Transportation Assistant from January to April 2027 to enhance community access and mobility. This position focuses on team-oriented transportation design.

As a student assistant, you will work with the Active Transportation team to develop secure walking, cycling, and rolling infrastructure. Eligibility includes being enrolled in a post-secondary program, where you will contribute to expanding the cycling network and improving sidewalks with a robust emphasis on safety.

Your support will facilitate community engagement and promote inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design of bicycle lanes and trails
Develop public engagement strategies for transportation projects




Analyze active transportation facilities for improvements
Investigate signage and bike parking inventory needs
Provide feedback to staff on transportation operations

Requirements:
Must be enrolled in a relevant degree program or diploma
Knowledge of best practices for cycling infrastructure
Proficiency in MS Office and design software
Ability to communicate effectively with the public
Must travel to various locations using a personal vehicle
